“Just Vibes” Is a Setup
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself — What am I really doing with my youth? Am I just chasing vibes, or is there a deeper purpose? Is it really freedom if it leaves me feeling empty when the party ends? They tell us this is our time to "live a little" — to have fun, find ourselves, explore, and make mistakes while we can. But what if that’s the greatest deception of our generation?
The world has sold us a lie. It whispers that youth is the era for casual living — for dating without commitment, experimenting without consequence, and living without direction. But if we’re honest, how many people have gone too far in that so-called freedom and ended up wounded, confused, and far from the path they were meant to walk? The truth is: youth is not a playground — it’s preparation ground. What we do now is planting seeds we’ll harvest later, whether we like it or not.
You Were Born with Purpose — Not to Experiment
I’ve wrestled with this. Because I’m young too. And while I know I’m supposed to enjoy my youth, I can’t shake the weight of purpose. I can’t just do things “for vibes” when I know that everything I allow today will either build or break my tomorrow. I don’t have the luxury of wasting time trying to “find myself” when the One who created me has already spoken purpose over my life. I can’t date just to experiment, because my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit — sacred, not disposable.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (NIV)
Stop Comparing — You’re Set Apart, Not Behind
But let me be honest — comparison has almost crushed me. Social media makes it look like everyone else is living their best life. They’ve got the aesthetic, the soft life, the balance. And I’ve caught myself wondering, How are they doing it all and still having fun? Sometimes I even catch myself judging — Don’t they know that actions have consequences? But I realize the real problem is that I’ve been trying to carry Kingdom purpose while still craving the comfort of Egypt. Trying to live set apart while still longing to fit in. And that doesn’t work.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.” — Romans 12:2 (NIV)
Royalty Doesn’t Copy Culture — It Sets It
I’ve had to remind myself: I am not common. I am chosen. I’m not called to blend in — I’m called to stand out. And if I’m going to live like royalty, I can’t keep acting like a tourist in the Kingdom.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” — 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
Don’t Wait for Later — God Wants You Now
Why do we think we’ll serve God better later? Why do we assume we’ll be more obedient when we’re older, more tired, more broken? Jeremiah didn’t wait. Esther didn’t wait. Mary didn’t wait. Why should you?
“But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, “I am only a youth,” for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you,’ declares the Lord.” — Jeremiah 1:7–8 (ESV)
This Generation Needs Your Fire, Not Your Fear
Now is the time to rise. To lead. To burn. To carry revival in our hands and purity in our hearts. This generation is not waiting for perfect people — it’s waiting for bold ones. And we were born for such a time as this.
Join the Movement — Christ Over Vibes
I’m not writing this because I’ve figured it all out. I’m writing this because I’ve tasted the tension — and I’ve chosen Christ. I'm choosing purpose over popularity. Holiness over hype. Fire over feelings. And I’m inviting you to do the same.
“How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.” — Psalm 119:9 (NIV)
Youth is not for vibes. Youth is for Christ.
Let’s live like we know that.
